ARON ALPHA PP PRIMER is a primer used to make polyolefin and other low-energy polyolefin surfaces suitable for bonding with ARON ALPHA instant adhesives. It is only recommended for difficult-to-bond substrates which include polyethylene, polypropylene and EPT (ethylene propylene terpolyer) thermoplastic rubber materials.

  • Only for difficult-to-bond plastics
  • Improves adhesion of instant adhesives to polyolefins and other low surface energy plastics
DIRECTIONS:  Prime the polyethlene, polypropylene or EPT bonding surface by means of brushing or wiping with PP PRIMER soaked cloth and allow to air dry (should only take several seconds).  After the PP PRIMER dries, apply ARON ALPHA cyanoacrylate (instant) adhesive to one surface (side) only and join materials quickly.  Setting time is several minutes.  When the two surfaces are both polyethylene, polypropylene or EPT, prime both surfaces.  Use one drop of adhesive for each 1 1/2 inch surface area.

First soak the skimmed cotton or felt, etc. with the Primer, and rub the bonding surface one to two times. Then proceed with bonding using Aron Alpha adhesive. Because of the affect by temperature and moisture, the capacities of the Primer cannot be fully brought into play if the coating/waiting time is prolonged. The adherent with Primer should be bonded as soon as possible.
